If you wanted to combine the effectiveness with the pleasure, yoga is the most wonderful choice for that. It is really great both for getting emotionally calmed and, besides that trying to lose weight through it. If your initial goal for starting yoga was losing weight, then you should start with some exact poses right away. Try to choose the poses which are especially good for strengthening muscles. Each yoga pose has a special effect on one part of the body, so choosing the right poses will help you constantly work on your whole body.

Here are some of the poses that we advise you to start with:

  1. You can try the warrior pose. This is a standing pose which strengthens the thighs and stretches the back. It is really great for losing weight. All you need to do is start with extending your leg and leave your right leg backwards. Slightly bend, to the one side (you can start with the left), have your arms higher from your head, exhale and inhale. Turn the side to the other leg when finished with this one.
  2. Chair pose. Start this pose with just standing on the mat and having your hands in front of you. Start raising your hands and having them above your head. After, start bending on your knees. Try to stay in that position for couple of seconds (or as long as you are able to). When finished, slightly go back to your standing position, have a rest and repeat the pose again.
  3. Bending pose. This is a forward bending pose, which mainly worked on giving pressure to the abdomen. Start doing this pose with just standing still. Then, start bending forward, till the moment when you head will touch your knees. Stay in this position for couple of seconds again and go slightly to the standing pose. Have a rest for 30 seconds and continue with it again, if you wish so.
  4. Plank pose. This is a lying pose, which tones the shoulders, back, arms and abs.
  5. Sage pose. This is again a lying pose which mostly works with the core muscles and strengthens them. You can search for a video and will find how exactly these poses should be implemented in order to have a right result.

 

However, only doing these poses won’t work and won’t help you reach the necessary result in a short period of time. Doesn’t matter which method you choose for losing weight, it is always not enough to get limited with just that. So, for example, if you are going to a fitness and having a workout for couple of hours, and then eating fast food and sitting the whole day, that won’t work. Same with the yoga. If you really want to lose a weight, there are several things you should still follow to have a result:

  • Walk more, sit less – We know that most of the jobs we do now are in front of the computers and there is no other option, other than sitting for some 6 -8 hours and working. However, we encourage you to have a short walk in between those hours. You can also try to do some basic, easy yoga poses at the office itself. Those poses will help you get relaxed and will also give some energy for the other working hours.
  • Eat healthy- If you want to lose weight, and you are serious about It, stop eating everything that you can order. Don’t go the easy way, don’t choose the junk food. Prepare vegetable salads, eat fruits: those are way better choice for you.
  • Drink water – Same as above, drink water, not soft drinks. Always choose the healthiest option.
